We support whatever purchase method is easiest for you, but given the pandemic and the lack of opportunities to meet in person - this was the best way to offer signed copies of Beyond the Pear Blossoms to our wonderful supporters. In the early days of publication, it was also the most expedient way to get copies into the hands of readers.
Wherever you purchase your copy of Beyond the Pear Blossoms you will have the bonus of knowing that part of your purchase is going to support an important cause as 50% of all net royalties received by the author will be donated to support housing efforts for those that lost their homes in the Almeda fire in Talent and Phoenix, Oregon in September 2020.
Talent was Shawna's hometown, and she has been deeply touched at how the Rogue Valley has shown resilience and come together to respond to the tragedy of approximately 2500 homes being lost to the tragic wildfire. This is her little way of trying to do more to support the long-term stability of this community and their efforts to rebuild.

Author
Shawna grew up in a small town in a family of six. Her greatest memories, and affinity for the outdoors, were cultivated on annual camping trips with her family. Shawna’s education, career, and passions led her on many adventures. As an avid traveler, she is just as likely to be listening to the waves crashing on a beach as she is to be bustling through a city or listening to the crackle of a campfire.
Throughout her journey, she has always seen and recognized the importance of the incredible friends who have graced her path (especially those who have helped her load heavy furniture during her multiple cross-country moves). The founder of Grit, Grace, Gratitude (Grit2G.com), it thrills her to be creating a community of women who are discovering and pursuing what they truly want in life; just as she has pursued her lifelong goal of becoming a novelist.
